S7-1200 and solenoid valves

    Hi,

    I need to drive some solenoid valves (220 V, 50HZ) by a Siemens S7-1200 AC/DC/Rly.
    Those solenoids will be activated for a time range between 0.5 and 2 seconds, one by one. The DO will be powered by 220V.
    I'm wondering if i could connect the solenoids directly to the DO of the PLC (through a protection fuse), or if I have to use a suppressor circuit in between...
