Hello,
I'm using the Smith chart on a VNA to determine the matching circuit for my PCB (an RF switch (LoRa, WiFi and GNSS) and an antenna (NN02-224)). I found the matching networks for GNSS and LoRa using theory, and the VNA shows good results.
However, for WiFi, I couldn't get a good match...
Hi folks,
I'm thinking of getting a nano vna to measure the S-Parameters of RF transistors. One thing I noticed is that I've only seen the magnitude expressed in dB. I'm used to it expressed in absolute value of the magnitude.
How do I set the instrument to read the absolute value of...
I was plotting constant-gain circles on the Smith chart the other day for a potentially unstable RF transistor. I recently read on-line that for a potentially unstable transistor the maximum gain that can achieved is the MSG or maximum stable gain. MSG is simply the ratio of the magnitude of S21...
A certain RF transistor has a source - reflection coefficient with a magnitude of .105 and a phase angle of 160°. When plotted on the Smith Chart, the normalized impedance is .825 +j .06 Ω. What is the actual or unnormalized impedance? What does it depend on? Is it 50(.825 +j .06 Ω) or 41 +j 3...
