Hello! I am in a bit of a muddle, need to finish off christmas lights I am making, I have used a 555 timer and a 2 j-k flip flops with 4 and gates to create 4 different patterns, but I need to output from the and gates to a total of 160mA 12V LED lamps.

I was going to use transistors but simulating it in multisim (in a bit of a hurry lol) I have not been able to get it to work, Opamps seem to be able to power the Lamps but don't turn off after the and gates goes to 0... (digital 0 i think is not actually the same as ground)

Any help to get me out of a muddle would be appreciated.

Thanks
Ollie

Just use transistors. If you're driving with CMOS, an emitter-follower buffer is fine. If you're using TTL (or CMOS) use a common-emitter buffer.

No, I needed 160mA from each, as there was 4 sets of 8 lights drawing 20mA per light.

I have it sorted now thanks. Christmas lights are flashing away merily!
