3.3 voltage regulator problem

Yes, I am aware that the tab on the regulator IC is connected to the Vout. Did you look
at the picture elsey.jack provided? It is not very clear (out of focus), but I do not see any
bends in the regulator IC pins. I don't know if he plugged it in the solderless breadboard
that way just to take a picture of the IC, but if one tries to connect it up the way is appears
to be plugged in, it won't work.
 
I wasn't addressing you, I was addressing the OP. BTW, did he delete the picture you referred to, or am I blind?
 
The picture is still there. In the original message the word "picture" should be a light blue color. Just click on that.
 
Larger capacitance on Vout than Vin seems normal to me...

There might be more ripple on the input (especially for switching regulators), but as long as it does't affect the output, who gives a crap? You're more concerned with the output so the larger capacitance goes there.
