So I saw something interesting on youtube, it was a pov globe. Looked really good. Id like to make one for a friend.
My question is if anyone has ideas on how to translate a a picture( like jpeg or bitmap of the earth) into 360 vertical line segments. I'm not sure if Im using correct terminology, Ive spent sometime googling, and I believe they are called raster lines, but I'm sure.
The picture will be basic, not detailed. Just a simple 2d, no detail,except for the outline of the continents.
Ideas ?
