4000 series CMOS devices with buffered outputs?

I am using CMOS logic gates/counters etc in a lot of designs but I always need to add extra circuitry for buffering the outputs (normally just a transistor and some resistors).
Are there any drop in replacements that have buffered outputs?

Not really. Some products feature "buffered" outputs, but that doesn't mean they are going to drive your devices. Logic was never intended to drive relays, actuators, etc, so buffering will normally be required.

You might want to look at one of these Darlington arrays, depending on your operating voltage:
ULN2803A for 5V CMOS
ULN2804A for 6V - 15V CMOS

They're inexpensive and would save you from using a bunch of discrete components for buffering the CD4000 series outputs.
