I know the CD4511 and CD4510 can be used to drive a common cathode 7-segment display, but I was wondering what the equivalent chips for a common anode 7-segment display would be or can I use the same chips.
I read somewhere that I could still use the CD4511 for common anode, but I am not sure exactly how to do this.
You can use the CD4511 with common anode displays, but you have to use a transistor on every output.

go to page 5 and you will 2 schematics of how to connect CC & CA displays.
When using a CA the output turns the transistor on allowing the cathode of the LED to connect to ground, hence turning the led on.
This type of arrangement will be needed for every segment output/LED
