SN74ALS236 FIFO problems

Does anyone here have any experience with these chips?

I'm having loads of problems with them. They dont even do what the data sheets say they should do.

Instead of typing a long drawn out post about the specific problem, I'll ask if anyone has experience with them.

If you do, please reply... I need help.

I have never used that part as I am sure others that could help have not as well (pretty old part). With that said, I would suggest you post your actual problem/question.

It is an old part... but still widely used.

I'll post the actual problem in a few... getting ready to sit down for supper.
