A broadband camera module (400-2200 nm): Any suggestions?

Hi guys,

Would anyone happen to have any info on a camera module which has these similar specs in term of the wavelength spectrum as follows:

Because I'd like just the CCD to be interfaced directly rather than procure the whole package.

That range, particularly at >1.1 µ with a single chip may be a bit expensive, if possible. Can you use two chips?

I found this Hamamatsu link that shows the spectral sensitivity for several InGaAs chip designs. Here are the choices for the near infrared:

Note, they do not reach 400 nm. That page also has the typical response for common CCD's for the visible. What do you need sensitivity in the 1.2 to 2.2 µ region for?

Hi John, thanksalot. I suppose I can do with two chips. I need to do some spectral profiling of human tissue, and the current equipment like the MicronViewer is a bit bulky for me, plus not so customizable. Have you had any experience in using their products?

Can you give a model number or link to the device you are using. "MicroView(er)" is virtually a generic for for a magnified camera/viewer. It also refers to an open-source software: http://microview.sourceforge.net/

I have a fair bit of experience with microscopes and recently got one of the inexpensive magnified camera off eBay.

I suppose the Hamamatsu does have quite a range, but the area sensors cover only up to 1.2u. The linear is a lot better, but I would really like an area (or a few as you suggested. :)) type which covers up to those ranges.

On the other hand, as highlighted here: https://biomedicaloptics.spiedigitallibrary.org/article.aspx?articleid=1101235 the optical properties does go only up to 1.2u anyway, so probably it's for the better?
