I'm about to build a variable voltage power supply

I don't always ont to be grabbing for the multimeter whenever I want to adjust the voltage to roughly something

so I though of a simple (not very accurate) circuit

the voltage range will be 0-24v

my question do you think it would work?

It'll work. I am assuming those are LEDs and not light bulbs. The low voltage indicators would end up much brighter than the higher voltage indicators as the voltage is increased. Have you thought about using an LM3914?

You could just put a pencil mark by the control knob
at various voltages.

John :)

Second that. Been using the same for years without any problem.

Difficulty is how to get the scale fairly linear for 0-24V so any adjustment is easy.
