it calls for a 1.2:1 ratio with center taps on each side. i have several toroidal cores as well as ferrite rods. im a little lost because there are so many variables: wire guage, inductance, core Al,dc resistance, loading, etc. there are a lot of different ways to come up with 1.2:1. what would be the best and easiest route in your opinion? thanks in advace!
I salvage cores from old tv's etc, you can do some basic checks to work out Al and saturation point.
You can trade some of the maths for trial and error.
Its not so difficult to design a tranny, esp if there isnt an air gap.
Try https://ferroxcube.com/ look at application notes.

any of their competition. Any transformer maker or coil maker. Look at TI or National or Power Integration....anyone that makes ICs for switching power supplies.
