American Superconductor Dream

Has anyone noticed the strange belief of certain large American companies (HP, Motorola) to name a couple, that phosphor bronze is a superconductor? In many pieces of very expensive equipment I have found, as the sole cause of the fault, a small piece of soft, black phosphor bronze, usually embedded in charred plastic, that once was a connector.
If , say, Nigel were asked of this connector, he would say "2 amps, maybe 4 in a dire emergency" , but there on the circuit diagram is clearly marked " 5v 15A bus". Any comments, anyone?
