It outputs a signal at 5V and the external component can draw a maximum of 200mA. I was wondering how can I use an amplifier to amplify this signal to a much higher voltage and output more current? I would like at least 600mA instead of 200mA.
if you use a MOSFET the current coming out from your module is null since the mosfet gate impedance is very high. If you use a BJT transistor such as a 2n2222 you can limit the current going out from the module for example to 5mA by placing a 1Kohm resistor like in this picture: **broken link removed**
Vbb is the signal coming out from the module L and D can be your load to drive.
As an alternative you can use a driver like the ULN2003 or a L293D..
