Hi..
in datasheet of BTA12 or 16 it says under features

Minimizes Snubber Networks for Protection ---- what does it means.

Does it mean i dont need a snubber circuit if i run motor, transformer or relay.

What about aquarium powerhead are they resistive or inductive load.
aquarium powerhead internal has something like a transformer or coil which generates flux and a cylindrical magnet which has a impeller attache to it, this flux makes the magnet turn and you get water flow.

Triacs are mostly made to switch AC loads. Most power heads are DC like a big computer fan. They would be an inductive load and might not need a snubber.
