I've made 2 slave clocks, 1st used an analogue 1 using its 2nd hand + a magnet going around to switch reed switch (all powered from 1½ volt dry electric cell), then 2nd used 555 timer & 2 transistor flip-flop & +1 transistor & also reed relay [@ 9 volt] to 1½ volt dry electric cell.
