automaric voltage regulator using microcontroller

Why do it in software when there is a $0.30 analog-linear solution already existing?

Switching or linear regulator?
 
"automaric" or "automatic" has probably nothing to do with a regulator. Not a basic one, for sure.

If I have to email you something I will charge a lot of money for the trouble.

What does sensing 220 volts have to do with a voltage regulator?

What voltage are you trying to regulate?
