audioguru Well-Known Member Most Helpful Member Jan 12, 2010 #2 The very old SL100 transistor is available in India. But any little NPN transistor will work. I would use a 2N3904 transistor. You need a photo-transistor, not a photo-diode. Get a photo-transistor that is available in your country.
