Hello all,

I am new to the forum and am happy to find this place. I have skimmed
throught some of the threads and was very impressed. So impressed, I
registered immediately as I believe someone here can help me with my
dilemma.
I have a basic chaser light circuit that I want to use as an either an upgrade
and/or stand alone alarm system for my car.
The circuit can be found here:

Scroll down until you come to the 10 channel led
sequencer schematic.
First let me state that I want to incorporate a dual led ( this will be expained
later). OK. When I hit the remote (or switch in the car), I want the circuit
to run through its normal chaser light pattern. I intend to put some kind of
contacts under the door handles (I know I am going to get chastised about
this portion but I have a general idea of how I want to do it), and when
a theif ( or someone else), touches these contacts I want the circuit to
cease its chaser light format and I wantall the lights to come
on until that individual stops touching the contacts under the handle. When
they release the contacts, I want the circuit/alarm to go back to its normal
chaser light mode.
Next is when I hit the remote ( or switch in the car), I want the dual led
( remember I said I would explain whey I wanted the dual led earlier), to
stop flashing red and switch to green signifying the alarm is deactivated.
I would like to also mention that I would like it to stop its normal chaser
light mode and have all the lights come on once again and then have the
circuit stay on for about 5 seconds then shut off completely.
I hope that one of you electronic geniuses can figure out a design for this
idea I have. I have no clue. In the next few months I am going to enroll in
an online electronics course so I won't have to bug you fine folks every time
I have a special project I want to tinker with.
Any hoooo, I appreciate you taking the time to look at my post and consider
if not help me with my problem.
I look forward to catching up and reading all the past and future posts in this
forum.
Thanks guys and gals!!!!!!!!!!!
Craig

PS That's how I got the nickname gizmo. I like to come up with alot of ideas
for different gizmos.

I don't know what's happening when I click on it, it goes right to the page.
Basically is uses a 555 timer and a 4017 counter ic for a 10 channel
chaser light effect.
I will check and see if I can fix the link later today.
