BD245B Transistor

Hello:

Have a project going, but it requires a BD245B transistor. Can not find one locally or at Digi-Key. Is there something equivalent that I can use. Attached is a pdf of the schematic.

NTE matches it to their NTE390. Don't know if this is close enough for you, but it is available.

After looking at your circuit, judging by its position and function (pass transistor), I'd be surprised if you couldn't use a 2N3055 there.

Use a BD679 in place of BD245 and BC137 if you only need 3 amps. BD679's are only 10 cents.

Colin55 just to be sure, you are suggesting the BD679 can replace both transistors BD245b and BC137 as the pair are actually acting as a Darlington transitor?
