Beam Break OR safety sensorr

I have a door of 15 inch width and 25 inch height. I need to sense if there is any object (pets, human etc.,) between the door because the door opens and closes automatically on motion sensing but not stop closing if there is an object in between

Look at how a garage door sensor works, they are a beam break/opto sensor.
