Which is best for program compiler software1)mplab or 2) mikroc

This is a 14 bit core so Nigels tutorials is an ideal place to start( link in my signature )

If you are going to use C then it doesn't matter about interfaces... The XC8 free version will do more than enough!

MikroC is closely linked to its own hardware.... A pic progammer from Microchip will be cheaper than the MikroE's programmer..
