Has anyone build a temperature sensor for medical usage(to take human temp.)? Is there a sensor module that can provide a good resolution of 0.1 Celcius?
RS components in Australia sells a little LCD temperature module with a remote probe that can be adapted for that purpose. The problem with temperature measurement I found is the difficulty of calibrating it, especially to 0.1 reading. Its doable at the zero degrees (C) setting with melting ice and at the 100 degrees (C) setting with boiling water (at sea level) but anywhere in between one needs access to a calibrated master thermometer to compare the readings and see if they are linear over the range of interest.
