it's from a Samsung SP1624N Hard drive, 160GB/7200rpm/2M/PATA. My friend had a SimpleTech external USB hard drive and had that hard drive in there. when i plugged it in, it was fuming white smoke off the chip. I was wondering if i could recover the data off of it by replacing the chip. I'm not sure, but it's possible that she used 16V/1.1A AC adapter to power it up in the past which must have fried it.
