Cable shear inside the boot

Will a snugly fitting a piece of cable through an aluminum enclosure sidewall cause the cable to shear in the long run ?

- Seated in the boot of the car, not loosely hanging but secured in place, both the enclosure and the cable
- PVC sheath, 5.6 mm outer diameter, -40...85 deg C rated cable
- enclosure sidewall is 3.35 mm thick

Eventually yes, you need to fit a proper cable gland or grommet to protect the wire.
