I'm looking for a battery holder (6v -- 4 AA etc., and 9v) that has attached to it a plug that you find at the end of most a/c adapters.

I'd rather avoid the soldering.

I can't seem to google for it. Multiple attempts at

"battery holder" "adapter plug"
(etc.)

seem to turn up nothing. I've found something like this before. Any ideas on where to find it? I'm a stay-at-home dad and several parents have ended up with baby monitor transmitters that take no battery and require the a/c adapter.

Is there a code on these adapters to determine the barrel diameter? I'm talking about the small cylinder plugs with a receptical within them for a post. Pretty common for baby monitors, and most house-hold gadgets.

THANKS
