Cellular Modem and a PIC? Help...

Anybody knows where I can find a hardware circuit board which I can program a cellular application. The HW must have a PIC controller.
I found a company which sells such a circuit:

but they are still in design stage.

I think some mobiles accept RS232 signals, maybe you can use that?

Is a cellular module the same thing as a cellular modem? I assume not, but you might be able to turn the module into a modem by processing the data before the PIC gets the module to send it (whereas a modem would do this on it's own).
