Cheap and dirty sound level meter

hi folks I want to build the above for a one off set up of my 6.1 speaker system. Single tone is used so frequency does not come into it.

Any ideas?

PS major need caused by "old" ears which are no longer dependable!!
 
Are you actually talking about a VU Meter?

Just use an LM3914

If you actually want a "Sound Pressure Level Meter"?
