about every 5 years i work on this unit which has pcb edge cards and connectors,
they are really difficult to get out.they have that plstic lever on them but this time i had to remove the assembly , use screw driver between the board and pcb to get them loose. all looks good.I know there is deoxit cleaners but for this edge connector is there someting else i should use?
thanks
Doug
They are "paper" strips impregnated with a contact cleaner.
Rub the pcb edge connectors with the strips, and the contacts inside the connector bodies.
Many years ago, I had similar problems with the circuit boards in a PDP11 mini computer, they were a bear to get in and out.
Rubbing the card edge connectors and the sockets on the backplane with the cleaning strips made a world of difference to the insertion/extraction force required.
(And probably fixed a few unexplainable system crashes as well!)
