CRT Monitor does not turn on - strange behavior

Hi folks,

I have a none-name CRT monitor which suddently stopped working after installing GTA 1 in DOS )

Yes, you heard me right. a warning message came up when installing GTA; something about turn off your monitor otherwise it might be destroyed...

before I had time to do anything it just went on and tested VGA-card and continued as normal.

Launched the game and was able to start new game, then it just froze with no output.

had to hard reset the PC but the monitor never came on.
it first showed a vertical line in the middle, I immediately turned it off, after trying to turn it on again it just cycled with on/off and "out of range" led on/off blining.

No picture at all, unplugged it from the PC and same behavior, let it sit for an hour - same

see attachments for the information.

it looks like a Sony Trinitron tube in disguise.

Edit:
The above happened when starting GTA in Hi Color Mode.
tested with an LCD screen, it lost its range/went blank and PC froze
restarting and testing again with disabled driver worked fine on same LCD.

either this is convincidence or GTA killed my CRT monitor

Is it possible to reset/revive the CRT somehow?
