What is the purpose of having the capacitors in crystal oscillator circuit like what is in the file i attached?[/img]

I can only add one thing to Ron H's excellent reply.
Sometimes, either C1 or C2 is made variable as a trimmer capacitor to
trim the crystal frequency to an exact frequency.
