Hi
can anyone give me clear definitions of duty cycle & mark-space ratio?are they the same thing?

thanks

They are NOT the same!!!

Mark Space Ratio = 1 means that Mark = Space (i.e. 50% duty cycle).
Duty Cycle = 1 means that the output is on full time (Mark=100%, Space=0%, i.e. 100% duty cycle).

ok i think i get it.so duty cycle = Ton/Period right? and mark space ratio = Ton/Toff right?

Or Duty Cycle = Ton/(Ton+Toff).

Yes very true.So is my formula for mark space ratio correct?

Thanks again

Yes. ###############################################

I think what audioguru meant, is they're two different ways of measuring the same thing.
