I need to enable the Trickel Charger to keep a .22f cap charged. But after looking at the Data sheet I need to program in a setting for a diode(s) and resistor combination. Must I use them if using a " super cap "!

Thanks for looking,
Steve

I know I need to enable it. But since im using a cap, Do I realy need the resistor/diode combo. I assuming that it is to limit the current to a battery. ( a safey thing )

It's built into the DS1302, just connect the supercap directly to the batt pin. It's enabled with software... Nice part the DS1302 and I2C DS1388
