What would you like to know?
I have used both DS1621 and DS1624 in temperature monitoring
equipment.
I think the difference between the two devices is the temperature
range.....They both use I squared C for communications.
Both my parts are 5V devices.
Last year I built a temperature monitor with the range of 32F ( 0C )
to 199F (92.7C). I interfaced a DS1624 to a PIC type 16F84.
I believe they come in all different package styles.
I use just plain old 8 pin PDIP devices.
I believe that Dallas Semi is now part of Maxim...you should be
able to find the data sheets at the above websites.
These devices will read out temperature in degrees C.
I programmed the formula F = ( C x 9/5 + 32 ) into my 16F84 for
readout in degrees F.
Each chip has 3 pins for an address....A0...A1...A2
Each chip has a +5V pin and a ground pin.
Each chip has 3 pins for data...1 pin = SCL, 1 pin = SCK, 1 pin = SCD..data
For proper operation, you must use pullup resistors on these pins.
I used 4700 ohms.
