You could make the same thing out of wood for a far lower cost, and wood is more static friendly than plastic.
The scrap lumber most DIY'ers have in their basement could make one large enough to hold a motherboard, the only missing components might be dowling which is dollars for feet.
 
I probably will use some dowels and scrap oak pieces that I have laying around.
Why go to all the trouble hunting up materials when I already have enough wood scraps laying around to do the job.
 
It does depend on the job.
 
I ended up finding a nice "panovise" style PCB vice at a fleamarket for $15.00; even so, this still looks like an interesting project!

Ive been using a stand and aligator clips but it still moves around - Thanks for posting
