I am interested in computer and electronics and would like to get on the pathway to a lucrative career as soon as possible. I have been considering a tech school in my area that provides training for the Ass. CET, N+, Fiber Optics cert. as well as an associate of occupation studies in microcomputer technology all in 15 months. I was thinking that would get me started than after that I could continue and change the degree into a BS once i got on my feet in a job somewhere.

Once you have money you won't want to go back to being a poor student .... If you can, I would suggest going straight for the BS. You'll be able to land an intern or part time job after 3 semesters or so (which is probably about 18 months or so).
