ELF receiver circuit?

Looking to do some study on the earth's natural telluric currents and surface EMF/ELF resonance. Seeking an electronics circuit to measure 0.001 Hz to 300Hz. Does anyone know of a good circuit that will detect this range from a distance of up to 40 inches above the soil surface?

What will you be using as an antenna?

SpectrumLab is good for that. it even has some preset setups for doing exactly what you are trying to do, but i don't know how well sound cards work below about 10hz, as many of them are capacitively coupled at the inputs. there are some that are direct coupled that would do the job.
