Exadecimal LCD LM039 with a pic

I have a lot of Exadecimal LCD models LM039 with driver uPD7225 but I am not able to use them with a pic16f628A or other mid-range pic.
I can use mikrobasic, if someone has implemented software with this (or even another) language, perhaps you can give me a hand...

You CAN use these with pics in that range. The uPD7225 is driven over SPI. Almost all pics in that range have a hardware SPI module. Software SPI is also very very easy to do.

Why is it you can't use these with pics ?
