Feeder Timer

Does anyone have a schematic diagram of how to make a timer that can be used to run a feeder? Perhaps a timer than will close a circuit for a few seconds and leave it open for an extend period. Thanks for your help in advance.

A basic timer could consist of monstable cct based on a 555, do you a few more details, like timing duration, and more application specifics ?

Since he requires cyclic on/off of feeder, he should go for astable oscillator instead of monostable.

I agree it could be astable configured, but until we know a few more specifics......either could be used.....depends if he wants single shot operation or continuous..... 8)

What about two 555 timers in astable configuration (or a single 556)? One that would run for about a day. When it activates, a feeding motor turns 'on' and runs for a duration set by the second timer. Guess it depends somewhat on the way the feeder is to operate - mechanically. It would be nice to see more detail from bdancer.
