FM Transmitter noise

I'm using a FM transmitter to re-broadcast a Sirius radio signal. The FM transmitter works great, tested it using a portable MP3 player as an audio source. The MP3 player is powered by a single AAA battery. When I connect the Sirius radio dock audio line into the transmitter, the broadcast signal becomes distorted (static), even with the Sirius radio turned off. The problem goes away when I unplug the wallwart for the Sirius radio. I thought about adding some bypass filter caps to the Fm transmitter power supply. Am I going in the right direction, since the MP3 player powered by a seperate power source didn't produce any distortion?

Possible noise from a switchmode supply?
