I follow all of his post's and watch all conversations. I'm sure I'm not the only Grandpa or Uncle or concerned member of ETO that couldn't recognize any such behavior. I do believe Logans intelligence far exceeds anyone who could possibly attempt such a thing, he would be the first one to know. It wouldn't be long as Uncle Eric would come crashing down, with fury.

If we did connect with someone like that it would be a Dog Pile on them. They wouldn't stand a chance, we would escort them out on a Pig Pole.

That is exactly why I am not a "Twitter" or "Facepalm" fan.

What a lot of people do not realize is that once you "Tweeted" or expressed your feelings....your followers pick it up immediately...

You may of had a really crappy day at work. So now you talk about it = NO.

That is probably why Forums are a safe place to get rid of frustrations. They are Moderated...

I will never ever forget sending my first email around 2000. I had just learned about the NET...

I pushed the send button with much regret....How I wished I could of stopped that Mail like in the post...Too late. Type in haste, regret in time.

Never to be forgotten lesson. Especially for hyper people like me.... tend to act first and then think later. Told my Boss to take a long hike....

yeah sorry i am trying to sort personal info on his account! h3 dosnt have a computer or laptop he is only allowed to use mine or my wifes. so sometimes i fire up firefox and type away without looking at who is actually logged in! more often than not i cant be arsed to log off and back in as me

It would be great to be rid of the frauds but there is no way to prove fraud to everyone's satisfaction. I would expect some members to side with the accused simply because doing so provides them with a vehicle to take a shot at the accuser.

In the end accuser would come out looking like mud, and the fraud would assume a new identity and start anew.

It is my hope that this thread has raised your awareness that even on ETO not everyone is who they claim to be.

Ok, now I have both read and understood this thread. Takes time sometimes

I say Zero tolerance for ANYBODY that tries to "sweet talk, impress or otherwise screw with kids minds". So, if the kid has a future and is naturally talented and has a great future ahead of him/her...kudo's and support all the way.

Problem always is are the Internet chancer's...the vile rubbishes that wait and prey on forums like this. ETO is a safe haven for learning for kids of any age.

And rightly so. If Little Ghostman leaves here because Jason(DAD) feels he is threatened in any way....so be it.

And what a loss that would be There are certain members here that never learn. Questions, questions and more questions.

Unlike a "kid" that is naturally intelligent with a golden future. That keeps learning and never asks the same question twice. And writes things down. So he will not forget.

That is a star in the making.

I hope G11 is thinking that way? "LG" is forging his University Skills and many mentors are aiding to shape his future. What better knowledge than to have Professionals who are in the know, teach you down to earth skills.

It would be for me also, he's asks the kinds of questions I need to know about C Programming. Everyone else on the site ask about things way above my head, it's hard enough to understand the questions he's asking, let alone theirs.

If there is anything in C that you need to understand... Ask away, I'll try and make the answer as understandable as I can..

If you, or anyone else, wants me to make a tutorial for anything... Just ask. I will try and do the C code and ASM side by side if I can..
 
i am allowed on here its just that dad has a thing about the internet and children, i dont have facebook or stuff like that, besides he knows i cant learn quicker without the internet, i learn alot from books but the down side is you cant ask a book a question. alot of what i read is way above my understanding so i need a place like this that can take a technically written page and explain it in simple language, yes by the time i goto uni i will have a head start but thats the name of the game isnt it?
are you trying to learn C kilivolt?
 


Thank you. I'm really glad, cause I'm thick headed. I'm going to try for my CCNA and one of the requirements of the course is some C programming knowledge.

I figure I might as well have some fun with it and do some electronics at the same time

I haven't even began to get that far. I'm waiting to get a SSD (Solid State Drive) so I can run "Windows" and "Mac" at the same time using VMware. The I'll be asking what to get started with, I'll be watching your posts and Threads in the mean time.

I've been working on my Maths, I'll have to brush up after 30yrs

Wow just getting back into ETO after a long hard summer and I run across this thread.

I cant say that I have seen any imposters on here before but I only have time to skim some of the posts.
I think imposters would have been a better discripshoin in the title of this thread.
 
That would be correct. As important as child abuse is I would rather that people interested in talking about it would start a new thread . The subject of this thread is members who defraud us by pretending to be other then they are specifically child vs adult and male vs female, untrue claims that sort of thing.
 
the trouble is guy's i see what you are saying but to parents of young children the question of why it is being done isnt relevant, they may well be doing this as you say to get better help, but to a parent just the fact that people are doing this is a worry. After all as parents of young children we need to be sure that people are who they claim to be, once that trust isnt there then regardless of why a person is doing it isnt important, i feel a decent caring parent would have no option but to remove there child.
Surely there is nothing wrong with Admin or Moderator contacting the person/person's they believe to be fraud's and just saying look we are unsure you are who you claim to be, just about everyone has skype or msn or some other form of this, just arrange a cam chat or ban them! SIMPLES!
It's EM's site he has the right and i believe the duty to make sure this place is what it seems to be, so no i dont think the membership needs to do anything other than contact a mod and let them take it from there, but i think if any of the mods or admin think someone is a adult pretending to be a child then just arrange a cam chat with that person in private, if for example it was Logan then of course you would have to ask for contact details of the parent get there consent and have them present when the chat took place.
As for men pretending to be women...... i dont see that as an issue! lets face some men dress as women at weekends, some are in the process of changing with surgery, some think they are women trapped in a mans body, but when all is said and done on this kind of forum pretending to be female isnt really a issue, the simple answer to that one is dont reply to them if you dont want to, they are not a danger to anyone there is no harm in it. ADULT pretending to be a child is different and should be treated as such, if only to reassure thse of us that do have young children here.

I would agree the thread has moved well off topic, but some very very interesting posts have been made regarding potential abuse of younger people via the web.

If you agree, I will move the interesting posts to a new thread in the lounge in order that members can freely discuss the separate topic.
