FTDI vdip1 eval kit

has anyone seen a North American (us / canada) source for the new FTDI usb host controller?

the device claims to add complete and transparent USB host capabilities to a microcontroller project, including fat filesystem for usb storage class devices

just bumpin this thread ... anyone see the VDIP1 for sale States' side?

Mouser has the bare chips in stock, but it doesn't seem to have the VDIP1 assembly.

I do remember seeing something, but it might have just been an ad in a trade rag.

BTW, These guys https://www.dlpdesign.com/ seem to have built something with it, but it probably isn't what you're looking for...
