Do you agree, that this function generator's input and outputs are all referenced to earth ground, and it cannot be disconnected from earth? ground?
I live in the UK as well, there are a good number of two pin IEC cables out there - although less than there was, as I used to cut and bin everyone that passed through my hands
Thanks yes thats right, though i think the industry would do better to have an optional connection of ground_out to earth. When earth is not connected to output, there would just be a , say internal 1MEG resistor between output ground and earth.....or between output ground and primary DC bus ground, just to stop it floating off.
I mean suppose you want an oscillating signal which isnt grounded to earth.....
Not to mention if you are using it with a scope on an isolated output....then the f() generator ground and the scope probe ground clips must not be connected to different nodes...which is awkward at times.
