Hi,
For my electronic products GCSE I am creating a countdown circuit using a seven segment display (1 digit). However I have recently purchased an "Epson toyocom 4-bit realtime module Dil 18". The data sheets that have come with the product give outputs that don't seem to corrospond to the display.

THe inputs on the display are the normal c,b,a,f etc. If you could help me out on wiring the two components together it would be great becuase I'm very stuck!

Thanks very much
Will

You forgot to tell us the part number of the Epson Toyocom clock IC.
Maybe it it the RTC-62421. Its datasheet is too brief. It says the IC is a copy of the OKI MSM6242.

The datasheet for the OKI IC says that its 4 data outputs drive a micro-controller IC, not a display.

The clock IC does not drive an LED display!
The clock IC sends data to a micro-controller that needs a program to interface with the clock IC and to convert the data to seven segments.
The micro-controller or another IC can drive your seven segment display.
