Hi Bro,

In my project, i need to control dc motor in foward reverse condition by using high current (car battery). Has any one expert here able to help me?

I'm still confuse whether want to use IGBT or Mosfet on controlling this matter.

Help me please........:(:eek::confused:

hi,
Look up H Bridge circuits.

eg: LM293 or LM293D H bridges

Use an H-Bridge IC. Like BA6209. Its cheap as it is widely used in VCRs.

@ericgibs: lm293d are comparators?
@pkshima: He's talking about high current from a car battery. depending on the type of motor you could easily draw more than 50 amps. my windshieldwiper motors draw about 10-20 amps

go to this document from international rectifier:
https://www.electro-tech-online.com/custompdfs/2008/11/choosewisely.pdf
It tells you about the specific areas in which to use a IGBT or Mosfet

In general: high voltage (>200) low frequency: IGBT
low voltage: mosfet (<200)
frequency > 200kHz, voltage <1000? ----> mosfet
between 200 and 1000 volts @20-200kHz: ???---->look at document
so when using car batterys: mosfet

also take a look at
