Does anyone know any sites that ship a UK compatible FX 888 to the UK?

These people appear to do exactly that.

I take your point, it looked a bit 'low-grade' to me too. E-mailing seems very sensible.

Hmmm, he wont accept paypal or credit/debit cards. Only a bank cheque. Do you think it's legit?

It looks amateurish but legit to me. The domain was registered in 2001, to the same address as the contact details on the website. The phone number is to a real phone, not a mobile or a non-geographic number. I would certainly phone to get a better impression.

Paypal ? 2.5%+ charge
Credit / Debit card processing ? Plenty + monthly rental
Personal Cheque payment ? Free lol

When you're working on a tight margin every penny counts.

I had a customer refuse to buy something off me as I only took Paypal payments. He wanted me to take his card details over the phone and told me I wasn't a professional outfit unless I did. I politely told him that having a Credit/Debit Card merchant account would absorb around 20-30% of my profits at the moment and he was welcome to go elsewhere.

8 Months later he placed an order via Paypal ......
