Halloween prop from sound activate to remote

Hey all, I got it working! Thanks.

Hello, I have a sound activated halloween prop that I'm trying to get to work with a Spirit remote control. I cut the 2 white wires on the sound sensor and wired them to the small box with the red and black wire. When the remote is pressed, it's supposed to activate the box and trigger the prop. However, the prop just continues to go off without pressing the remote. I read that I should connect a 10k resister to one of the leads, but it made no difference.

Did the sound sensor
A) send a pulse from low-to-high (battery voltage or 5v or 3.3v typical; or
(B) send a pulse from high voltage to low (0V).

Did the sound sensor
(A) send a short pulse to activate the device or
(B) send a longer pulse (i.e. did it stay in the whole time the device was doing its thing

The remote unit is a switch to gnd or logic level and does not simulate the sound sensor which goes to an amplifier then to a comparator switch where it needs to be inserted. But without details, I cannot guide you.

You might connect a resistor in series with a piezo buzzer to Vbat to create a quiet sound for the sensor
