Variable speed drive of DC motor using phase control rectifier.

Synopsis

A phase control rectifier use thyristor as switching device. To
obtain controlled output voltages, a phase control rectifier are
used. Output voltage of rectifier is varied by controlling the
delay or firing angle of thyristor. Typical application of phase
control rectifier is variable speed drives in process control and
materials handling, such as those for pumping, ventilation,
conveyers, compressors and hoists.

anyone know any circuit related to my problems?
at least i should manage to control the thyristor gate angle...

It uses pulse transformers to drive the thyristors. They can be seen here http://www.scopeboy.com/tesla/systemfull.gif

I think he was able to get 8-10kW out of it.
