L linguist New Member Oct 2, 2010 #1 I have an old mA meter that I would like to use it is about 100mm square. Will this work on both AC & DC current, I am not sure what it came out of as I only have a section of panel with it mounted on it. I need to read DC mA, will this do it. Pictures attached. L linguist New Member Oct 2, 2010 #3 Hi MikeMl, Yes, I have a 3 position rotary shunt to go with it, I am just not sure if it reads AC or DC current or both? Cheers Last edited: Oct 2, 2010

MikeMl Well-Known Member Most Helpful Member Oct 2, 2010 #4 It looks like a DC meter to me. If it were for AC, the scale would be non-linear at the bottom end, and it would say "ACmA" on the front.

L linguist New Member Oct 2, 2010 #5 Thanks MikeMl, I also thought it would state AC on the front or have a sine symbol if used for AC current. I will give it a test & see. Cheers
