help with PIC for wireless controls

i have a thought of usign a few 16c84's that i have on hand to build a remote and reciever unit for my robotic arm. size is an issue that is why i wish to do as much as possible with the single chip. any samples of such code or ideas would be greatly appreciated. i can build up around any sample or program provided as far as external circuitry goes.
