how i gate direction in my circuit?

hello friends,
In my stepper circuit i give only pulse with use of ic555 to rotate a stepper motor but i can not give direction to rotate forward and reverse.
i use a3977 to rotate stepper motor.
SO can anybody give me suggestion of ic which not progrramble ?

You are using an A3977 so all you need to do is switch the voltage signal on the dirction pin. If the pin is connected to logic V+ then connect it to logic voltage ground and vice versa.
